Biblical Truth: God never fails to keep His covenant and will always seek to restore His children.
Context: In recent lessons, students have learned there are requirements for God’s covenant, consequences for sin, and blessings for obedience. They have seen that when they forsake God’s covenant He will discipline them out of love. Most recently, they have learned that even though they are disciplined for turning away from God, He gives a choice to turn back to Him, promising a new life. In this lesson, students will learn through Haggai’s words that God is ultimately faithful and always offers to restore them to a right relationship with Him regardless of their past unfaithfulness.
Learning Goals:
- Students will understand that God will never forsake His covenant and will always restore them from sin.
- Students will apply their understanding by letting go of past failures and joining God in His current work.
